$25 Raspberry PI PC ready for launch !!

The Raspberry PI  PC which is expected to encourage a new generation of technology Kids is expected to go into productions. Last checking of the device is being done currently and if it is proven faultless then it would go into productions from this January.
 Video Game Vetran David Braben's idea is intended to encourage young people to start career in technology.Raspberry Pi is under development in Cambridgeshire."They’re undergoing electrical testing alongside hardware and software testing at the moment" said the gadget official blog. 
Some Features of Raspberry PI
  • The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard.
  • It is as capable as desktop PC  in doing things  like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also   plays high-definition video. It will be used by kids all over the world to learn programming.
  • Raspberry Model A will cost $25 and the Model B $35.
  • Mice, keyboards, network adapters and external storage will all connect via a USB hub  in Raspberry
  • The device is powered by 5v micro USB.
  •   There’s a standard 3.5mm jack, or you can use HDMI. You can add any supported USB microphone via a hub.
  •   The Model B version of the device includes 10/100 wired Ethernet.
  •   There is no Ethernet on the Model A version (which we expect to be taken up mostly by the education market), but Wi-Fi will be available via a standard USB dongle.
  • There is composite and HDMI out on the board, so you can hook it up to a digital or analogue television or to a DVI monitor. There is no VGA support, but adaptors are available. 
  • Can  run power Raspberry Pi from batteries as well as from a wall socket.
  • Debian, Fedora and ArchLinux will be supported from the start(no windows).
  • The SoC is a Broadcom BCM2835.
Raspberry Pi had initially wanted  to finish construction of its machine by the end of 2011.However due to delays it  anticipates to place orders for the gadgets from early January.

Love the concept of a $25 computer, love that it will encourage young people to have an understanding of programming and how computers work. The price point is certainly affordable and the portability makes group projects a given.

I expect the demand for the Raspberry Pi's to be huge and that it will sell out within hours on launch day.
