Google
has renewed a deal with Firefox to
remain as a default search engine giving it a 3 years lifeline within the
browser of Mozilla. The agreement came despite earlier prediction by analyst
that it would back out of the deal as to make it's own web browser
"Chrome" more market dominant. Mozilla, a non-profit organization has
said that " it negotiated a significant and mutually beneficial
revenue agreement" with Google for the next three years.
Mozilla
heavily relies on the income generated from the search partnership. Under the next
three year agreement Google will remain default search engine within the
browser for millions of Firefox users worldwide. In 2010 Mozilla had said that
it had generated $121.1 million income from agreement with Google, Microsoft
and other search engines of which about 85% was from google.
Google
Chrome remains the second most used web browser behind Microsoft's Internet
Explorer .Firefox had earlier been on the second of the chart.
